Belindas Drew, Chief Client Officer, The Monkeys (Part of Accenture Song)

Belinda Drew aka ‘Bel’ is the Chief Client Officer at iconic Australian agency The Monkeys -part of Accenture Song. With 20 years in the industry Bel’s experience is vast having worked at some of the world’s top creative agencies. Before becoming a Monkey, Bel enjoyed seven successful years at Leo Burnett Sydney as Chief Client Partner. Prior to that she called New York City home, working across USA, Canada and Mexico at TBWA\Chiat\Day. Bel thrives leading both local and international pieces of business with her work awarded at all the major shows.

Beyond big business Bel advocates for the empowerment of women & girls and the acceleration of progress against gender inequalities. In the words of the famous placard, she ‘can’t believe we’re
still protesting this shit’. It’s why she has partnered on probono campaigns with the UN for the past five years to address modern slavery; an issue with a bias to women in addition to leading the infamous gender equality campaign #WhenWillSheBeRight.

Belinda is the only person to have a trifecta win at the 2020, 2021, 2022 B&T Women in Media for “Account Management/Client Service” and is a big on giving back to the communications community which is why she is the facilitator for the 2023 AdSchool Advanced Account Management course.

Bel recognises she wouldn’t be where she is today without the incredible leadership and mentorship of her managers throughout her career. This appreciation is applied daily by practicing the same principles with her own team – her humble philosophy being, one team, one dream.

Bel lives out her copywriter fantasies at night by making up bedtime stories for her son. Even labradoodle Barry comes in to listen. Once upon a time there was a giant crab that loved to eat lollipops whilst listening to Mozart….
