The Marketing Academy is awesome. Initially just being accepted on the course is a wonderful acknowledgement of your abilities and your potential – and then meeting your incredible fellow scholars is both humbling and inspiring as you realize you are considered as part of that peer group. Winning a place on the Fellowship is like a lottery win for ambitious senior marketers seeking personal development. You really need to commit the time to the sessions to get the value back. The first thing I noticed was the quality of the Fellowship cohort – some of the very best Marketing Directors/CMOs from the top brands across several sectors. I feel privileged to have spent so much time with this class bunch. It’s really interesting to share experiences & understand that many have the same dreams and anxieties as you. Hopefully we’ll stay in close touch as our careers evolve. The programme is hugely well supported by top class talent from the likes of McKinsey, Slaughter & May, Freuds, Spencer Stuart etc. – they really roll out the big guns. Who better to learn from! I’ve been going through some major career decision points during the programme and the quality of the coaching & mentoring support here has been first class – and helped crystallise some big changes. My only grumble – it’ll be over soon!

When I was selected as a scholar for The Marketing Academy, I didn’t know what to expect. I soon discovered it is it one of the best kept secrets ever! I was surrounded by a group of exceptional marketers in my cohort, however the program itself really is not about marketing. It is in fact a world-class leadership development program that is deeply personal. I was forced to hold the mirror up to myself and reflect on who I am – both personally and professionally. I’ve been keeping a daily journal for the last two years. I only realized how truly life-changing TMA had been for me when I decided to compare journal entries from before and after. Seeing the stark difference in how I spoke about relationships, went about leadership, thought about others, handled difficult situations, and most of all, how I viewed myself, moved me to tears.

Great leaders inspire us because they change things. They don’t just make do. They don’t just fit in. They don’t just exist. They shape the world around us.
