David is an agency and CPG veteran in his fifth decade of media and marketing. Immediately prior to his retirement from full-time work in 2022, he was Unilever’s VP, Global Media in Asia Pacific and Africa, Chair of the Mobile Marketing Association in APAC and APAC Vice President at the World Federation of Advertisers. In these roles, he advocated strongly for a safer, more accountable digital media business. On his watch, Unilever was consistently the Effie’s’ most awarded advertiser in APAC for Marketing Effectiveness.
Previously, David worked across a range of advertising and media agencies as well as Unilever, in roles based in UK, Thailand, UAE, China and Singapore.
He now advises a number of digitally-focused media companies. His particular interests are data-driven marketing, online commerce, China-watching and the Attention Economy.
David is now based in British Columbia, Canada.
