Sophie leads Strategy and Operations Marketing for Google Australia, sitting across product areas to develop the local Google brand strategy, orchestrate cross product initiatives, and bring (or at least attempt to bring) operational order to a team of 50+ people.
With 13 years of experience in sales and marketing roles across FMCG and tech, Sophie is a commercial, results driven marketer with a love of ‘juicy’ strategic challenges. This perhaps explains the 8 years she spent working on Google’s hardware business as it evolved from a fledgling startup figuring out how to launch physical products and show up in retail stores, to the multi-disciplined organisation it is today. Fascinated by the challenge of launching & educating users on whole new categories of technology, Sophie has led several category first launches including some of the first Chromebooks, Chromecast, Google Home, as well as Google Pixel.
Outside of work, Sophie is at her happiest chasing the wind and plotting her next kitesurfing, wind foiling, or sailing adventure.
