Emily Outen, Marketing Manager BT Sport, BT

Emily is an accomplished Marketing Manager with extensive marketing and commercial experience. Currently in her dual focused role at BT Sport she leads the commercial sport b2b marketing strategy as well as campaigns across BT Sport’s b2c residential market. She has launched a number of transformative campaigns, contributing to BT Sport Commercial’s record revenue growth and establishing BT Sport as the largest paid for broadcaster in the on-trade.

Career highlights at BT include leading BT Sport’s first ever women’s football campaign, launching the Amazon Premier League Pass into the commercial market and delivering BT Sport’s award winning Season 7 launch campaign, ‘Unscripted’. Emily is determined to raise the profile of women’s sport, thus her proudest achievement is the success of her ‘Red Lioness’ campaign which has led to 1,000 pubs across the UK pledging to support and show women’s football.

After graduating with a First Class Degree in Politics with Economics from the University of Bath, Emily returned to her placement year employer Sainsbury’s. Here she was fast tracked onto their Future Leaders Graduate Scheme and spent a year rotating through different areas of the business before rolling off to become the buyer for Foods of the World. As a buyer she was responsible for the area’s multi-million pound P and L and successfully launched a number of transformative range reviews.

Outside of work, Emily mentors and is part of Advertising Week Europe’s New Gen Advisory Board. She also won the WACL Future Leaders Award in 2019 and completed The Cambridge Judge Business School’s, Cambridge Rising Women Leaders Programme. In her free time she can often be found training at the gym or watching her beloved team Everton (lose). She also enjoys cooking and baking and loves to host dinner parties for friends.
