Jack Hinchliffe, Marketing Director, KFC

Jack is a passionate, commercial marketeer and leader with 15 years’ experience working on some of the world’s most loved food brands. He has been at KFC for five years in various leadership positions and appointed Marketing Director for UK and Ireland in 2019. He has transformed media and campaign strategy, brought meaning back to Finger Lickin’ Good and landed the most successfully January on record, developing and launching KFC’s first ever vegan product.

Previously Jack was Innovation Director, safeguarding the secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices and developing some of the most successful cult innovations in KFC history including Dirty Louisiana Burger and the iconic Double Down. Leading the nutrition and sustainability strategy he launched a comprehensive nutritional programme to reduce calories by 20%.

Jack has been the face of KFC on The One Show, BBC Breakfast, Tricks of the Restaurant Trade and Food Unwrapped. Hitting minor notoriety after changing the fries to a skin-on chip, his decision received mixed reviews on social media and a short-lived movement to #getjackthesack. Thankfully for Jack this campaign was unsuccessful. At KFC he has been instrumental in transforming food, communications and media to make KFC more relevant, more distinctive and easier to access.

Prior to KFC, Jack worked at Mondelez for ten years, starting off selling Dairylea into wholesale and finishing up leading marketing for On Demand coffee. Along the way he led beverages revenue management, launched grocery in Amazon, developed Costa at Home and took the first triangle out of Tolberone (back when it was a good idea, before it all got a bit silly). Believing that commercial results and great creativity come when talented people are unleashed, Jack spends his energy empowering teams inside and outside KFC.

Outside of chicken Jack enjoys walking his dog in the Lake District (all weather), skiing (fair weather) and cycling (exclusively indoors).
