Alex Ayin has helped grow one of the largest social media agencies and social-first media publishers (Social Chain) in the world, opening offices in Manchester, London, Berlin, Munich and New York within 5 years, reaching 2.2 billion people each week with the content they produce and scaling the teams globally to over 300 employees. After progressing through a number of senior roles across the commercial and marketing teams within the company and becoming a board member of the Social Chain Group last year, he is now taking on an even bigger challenge in the world of e-commerce tech, launching a one-stop platform which does all the hard work of building a business for you; taking care of web design, sourcing, storage, delivery and payment.
In partnership with close friend, Sean Brown, the duo want to give every budding entrepreneur the opportunity to start their own business. Mercarto manages every aspect of ordering and customer service and will now challenge the enterprise incumbent platforms like Shopify and Magento. With more than 100 stores already created through Mercarto, following a soft launch earlier this year, Alex will bring a wealth of experience in order to scale every aspect of the business. Furthermore, with the recent backing of UK Fast Founder, Lawrence Jones, the potential for this Manchester based tech business is extremely exciting!
