Michael leads the sales and marketing organization of DWK Life Sciences, which is one of the global market leaders for laboratory consumables and a manufacturer of precision glassware and specialty products for life sciences. The three iconic brands of this industry – DURAN, WHEATON and KIMBLE – are part of the most valuable assets of the company and managed by sales & marketing organizations in the US, Europe and in Asia with about 200 people globally.
Michael´s career with the company started 14 years ago where he began as VP Sales in a transition phase after the company was carved out from a larger corporation and became realigned under private equity ownership. Since 2008 Michael is the CSO and one of the Managing Directors of the company and continued to expand and transform the group from a European player into the global market leader of today through M&A strategies, product innovation and regional expansion, predominantly into Asia.
Prior to his career with DWK Life Sciences, Michael, who is an Industrial Engineer by education, was heading the Corporate New Business/Venture Capital group of European´s leading specialty glassmaker Schott. There he initially started his career as trainee in the International Sales Department, followed by other assignments as Product Manager, Innovation Manager and Head of Sales.
Michael lives in the Frankfurt area, together with his wife and their two daughters.
