Sholto Douglas-Home, Chief Sales & MarComms Officer, Expo City Dubai

As Chief Sales & MarComms Officer at Expo 2020 Dubai, Sholto succeeded in attracting over 24 million visitors in six months to the World Fair, making it the most significant global gathering to take place since the pandemic. Sholto is now harnessing the success of Expo 2020 by launching Expo City – an innovation-driven new district of Dubai, twice the size of Monaco, and designed as a blueprint for sustainable urban living. The city is packed with residential, educational, cultural and entertainment offerings, and is hosting the UN’s COP28 Climate Change Conference in late 2023.

Sholto joined the UAE government’s Expo programme after 12 years as the Chief Marketing Officer of Hays plc, a global recruitment and staffing services firm. Prior to Hays, Sholto was Global Head of Brand and Marketing Communications at Thomson Reuters, before which he held senior marketing and advertising roles at BT Group. After graduating in Management Sciences from Warwick Business School, Sholto worked for three major London advertising and communications groups. Sholto is a former Chair of the Marketing Group of Great Britain, and was a Council Member of ISBA for two decades before moving to Dubai.
