Simon Michaelides, Chief Customer & Strategy Officer – Riviera Travel

Simon is the Chief Customer & Strategy Officer at Riviera Travel, responsible for business strategy, innovation, customer insight & analytics, brand development & marcomms; as well as the e-commerce & digital agenda for the business. Riviera Travel is a Private Equity owned travel operator, specialising in river cruises and curated tours. Simon began his career in FMCG, clocking-up 15 years at P&G, PepsiCo and Kantar Consulting, before making the leap into television, where he spent a decade in a variety of C-Suite roles at UKTV / BBC Studios, leaving to join Riviera Travel in August 2022.

Simon is one of the 2014/15 Marketing Academy Fellows and a previous Chair of the Alumni Council. A passionate champion of Marketing & Marketers, Simon is also a Fellow of the Marketing Society, a Non-Executive Director of Murphy Cobb & Associates – an advertising production consultancy, and has previously served on the ISBA Council.

Outside of work, Simon wrestles with conflicting passions for environmental issues and all things automotive. He is a Trustee of the Brooklands Museum – the birthplace of British motorsport & aviation, and when he isn’t fixated on cars & bikes, he can usually be found in the gym, or immersed in a good book, Film, TV show, or NFL game. Simon likes to add strings to his bow and tries to combine family time with new interests wherever possible, recently taking up Clay Pigeon shooting with his youngest son.
