As the Head of Marketing at Kayo Sports, and a founding member of the Kayo marketing team – Joel was accountable for designing the brand, setting up a new team and the launching Kayo in Australia. His current accountabilities include all brand marketing, running a large in-house creative team and driving planning and go-to-market across sales & marketing.
Recent achievements include winning Mumbrella’s Sports Marketing Team of the Year 2019 and News Corp’s ‘Brand of the Year’ 2019. Over the past 18 months Joel has led the delivery of 6 large ATL campaigns, which has grown Kayo’s brand awareness to over 80% and membership growth at a rapid rate.
Prior to his role with Kayo Sports, Joel spent 6 years in the digital team at Optus where he was accountable for digital performance marketing, digital customer marketing/retention & eCommerce channel development. While growing his career at Optus Joel completed an Executive MBA at Australian Graduate School of Business (UNSW).
Joel is commercially astute, customer focused and an energetic business leader – all vital skills as he leads the ongoing growth of Kayo across Australia.
